Submit a Stone

Before submitting a Stone, please read our guidance on how to submit a Stone. This will help ensure Stones are safe, accessible, lawful and meaningful. 

Once submitted and verified, the Stone will be placed on our map. Please include as many photos and details as possible. 

By submitting a stone, you are giving English Stone Lifting permission to feature the Stone on the lifting map.

If Stones are located on private land, please ensure the landowner has given permission for the Stone to be included (add landowner details).

English Stone Lifting is an independent information and mapping resource dedicated to documenting England's stone-lifting tradition. Publication of a stone's location does not constitute permission to access land, move or lift a stone. Users are responsible for obtaining any permission or consent required and for complying with applicable access, environmental, heritage and land-management restrictions. Please respect landowners, local communities, wildlife, archaeological features and the surrounding landscape. English Stonelifting does not organise or supervise visits to individual stones and may remove or restrict listings where concerns arise.
