Original Challenge

Stones to Chest

Name Origin
The Stones are placed in homage to Belisama; a Gallo-Brythonic goddess.

Stones Placement

The Stones were discovered and placed by @dances_with_stones in the woodland, just off the path by a small footbridge. Located along the famous Tolkien Trail, a 7-mile walk that runs through Ribble Valley and along sections of the River Ribble. There is quick access/parking for the Stones in Hurst Green. But we do recommend the walk along with the Stone Lifts for the full experience.

History

Belisama is a Gallo-Brythonic goddess whose name means "Most Shining One" or "Most Powerful One," and is strongly associated with the River Ribble in the historic territory of the Brigantes tribe in northern England.
