Access Details

  • Parking: Free roadside parking on Old Clitheroe Road. Access to the woods via a gravel path; what3words ///ejects.fondest.attending.


  • Walk-in. Follow the gravel track for 0.5 miles and the Brownslow Brook Stones are in the woodblock to the left. The Witch and the Oak Stone is approx. 5m further on.


  • Follow the track another 0.4 miles, with views looking out towards Pendle Hill. Take the obvious left turning. The next four stone locations are a further 0.3 miles up the track, placed approx. 20-40m apart from one another (Spruce, Taiga, Acorn and Hansel & Gretel).


  • There is an obvious opening into the woods near to the Taiga stone. Turn right in the woods and walk straight for approx. 250m to find the Axe Stones and the Giant's Whetstone.

  • Other key information: Longridge Fell trig point is <200m from the circuit and it has great view over the Ribble Valley.
