History
Ben found, and placed the Stone after finding it unearthed. The region where the stone lies on Exmoor, is in the heart of Dumnonii land, a Brythonic Celtic tribe who settled the southwest around 500 BCE.

They farmed these moors, raised hillforts, and honoured their gods in rivers, stones, and high places.

Their culture endured through Roman rule (43–410 CE) and became the kingdom of Dumnonia in the early medieval period, before the slow spread of Saxon control from the 7th–9th centuries.
