Name Origin

Brigantia, the Celtic warrior goddess of the Brigantes, embodied power and high status, her name meaning “exalted one.” She is depicted crowned, armed with a spear and globe, and sometimes bearing a Gorgon’s head, symbolizing victory and authority.


Stone Placement
Discovered and placed by @dances_with_stones in recognition of Brigantia, the warrior goddess of the Brigantes. The stone and plinth are positioned just off the western trig point of Ward’s Stone at 561m elevation. The lift requires a 4-mile walk-in to access the stone and plinth.
